I think anyone watching this game would agree that it was a cracker.
Burnley yellows had a lot of possesion count first half - a dissalowed goal for offside and a saved penalty meant we had nothing to show for it.
The blues on the other hand defended excellently and punished us well on the counter attack. They scored with a beauty of a volley on the edge of the area and attacked at pace & in numbers off any set peice we had that fell to them.
We started the 2nd half strong but it was the blues who again had the better chance with our keeper having to make an excellent 1 on 1 save against the advancing midfielder. We eventually found an opening down the left and a nice little lift over the keeper made it 1 -1.
From there we were the better team managin to convert 3 more chances into goals.
However the last 10 minutes belonged to the blues - they pressed up, had a goal dissalowed (wrongly dissalowed - he was onside) & then managed to tuck 1 away to the keepers left to make it 4-2.
Fortunately for us this was a little too late for them and there wasn't enough time to press & get a couple more.
Blues looked good, composed and broke on the counter attack with some real sting. On evidence of today - its hard to see why they haven't picked up any points yet - although i'm positive that's just around the corner.
As for yellows - we were good in patches, a little bit un fit, passed it well but failed to keep our shape at times. I'm sure we will settle down as the new players gell.
