opening 20 minutes Longsight were the better team but failed to create any clear chances, we opened the scoring with an own goal and then scored another 4 times before half-time, the pick Goudy's fantastic volley which he celebrated Richard Dunne style!
Second half was a scrap which we controlled and limited the chances Longsight had, another impressive performance although the scoreline slightly flattered us - we all know we can play better!
my match report is pretty similiar to wand's.
longsight arrived abit late for the game but it didnt take them long to click into gear first 20minutes they played some great football and may i add it was on the deck but after the 1st 20mins they started doin the long ball which was to be fair isnt longsights game! when longsight play the ball to feet and pass and move there one of the best teams at it without a doubt but the longballs didnt test us at all mike n warby were solid throughout.
after 20minutes or so we started to play some great football and our movement on and off the ball was brilliant...longsight found it hard to deal with and by half time we we're 5-0 due to some good finnishing second half affectively the game was over to many heads went down for lonsight still think longsight need abit of time to gel after losing quite alot of players that will come with time tho .it was a great result for us we didnt feel we played aswell as we could of done but its always good to know we can step it up a gear.
man of the match was mike anderson had a superb game!!
just like to add after my controversial move over the summer lol id like to wish longsight all the best for the season they played the game in great spirit today and despite the lose they have alot of posstives 2 take from the game
