an enjoyable game to play in even though we were on the losing side. Credit to Platt who were an honest bunch of lads and worked hard for the result.

Once again we had people missing and turning up late and without sounding ungrateful the mcd's bibs etc. turned our warm up into a bit of a circus act.
That said we paid the price because we were caught cold and for the first 20 mins didn't seem to have shown up. 3-0 down in a matter of minutes, maybe a bit unfairly. First goal was cross that came shot and looped over our keeper, second came from nothing really a ball put over was misjudged by our left back making his debut and he was muscled easily off the ball and it was smashed into the net. (Would like to point out this was Jay's only mistake in an otherwise faultless debut) Third goal again was another did he mean it jobs, ball looped into the air towards the edge of the box and the platt lad clipped it on the spin and it found its way into the net past a helpless Alex who could have done nothing for any of the goals.

Thankfully we came to life, Johnny Sheratt showing why he has been a good addition to the Macc side worked tirelessly up front and eventually got his reward despite the calls for offside. It was then Rick's 2 free kicks that caused great problems for the platt keeper, first one he spilled and it hit a defender and went it. Second one he could only palm into his own net.
3-3 at half time all to play for.
We came out second half positive and had a couple of chances but we were quickly behind again, another 2 quick fire goals from Platt, the first was a magnificently despatched free kick from about 25 yards by there number 9 who had been a constant threat during the game, second was equal, again the number 9 beat a couple of our midfielders and smashed it into the back of the net.
We grabbed a goal from a cheeky quick free kick to give us a sniff but despite all our pushing we couldnt nick another equiliser, instead it was Platt who finished the game adding another goal, a harmless ball over was miscontrolled by our right back and it put the Platt forward clean through to score in the 90th min. 6-4 final score.
If only we could get some consitency in the team we wouldnt be a bad outfit! Toft next time out.
Special thanks to Alex who deputised in goal as we were let down by both regular keepers and although the score was 6 there was nothing he could have done for any of the goals and put in some good saves also!
