Hurdsfield have been on the wrong end of this sort of score line over the years, so it is nice to win one of them for a change. First time we have scored double figures.
In the first half the match was actually in the balance at 2-2. We had taken the lead twice and our pace up front caused constant problems, but Ambassadors equalised twice. Hurdsfield went 3-2 up, then shortly after were awarded a penalty which we scored. Unfortunately, after the penalty award, one of the Ambassdors defenders was rightly sent off - that effectively ended the match as a close contest. We scored 6 in the second half and played some good football, Ollie got four.
Ambassadors heads dropped occasionally in the second half, understandable. But apart from that they kept going to the end and kept our defenders working. They play some good football going forward and have some good young attacking players. Their keeper played well.
Good attitude and conduct from all players, except the player who got sent off. The pitch was in very good condition. I thought referee Tony did well as usual, although there was one surprising decision when he gave a free kick on the edge of the box rather than penalty to Hurdsfield.
Good to watch !

Missed quite a match I believe! Although I guess its always 'dangerous' to judge a match by the number of goals; I suppose this was a case in point. Anyway its good to hear that the humbugs came up with the goods on demand and scored a satisfying 10!
Charlie Owl is right that we were often on the wrong end of a scoreline like this in Div 1. Here in Div 2 one naturally assumes, having just descended from the bottom of one division to the top of another, that each match is going to be a walk in the park. This however is a bad assumption because what everyone wants is a good match - the key word being the last one!
So here's to more wins for HTHFC because they're the best as far as I'm concerned; but what would I choose? More games like the one I didn't see on Saturday? No I think not. What we need is victory in hard fought MATCHES!

I thought SMAFC played really well up until the sending off then it got more tricky for us!
We kept going though and I don't think our heads dropped too much considering the situation! Our only aim for this season is to create a good atmosphere in the team, some respect and some fun! Points are a bonus we are expecting soon!
