A close game played in a good spirit and refereed fairly.
Ambassadors took the lead after about 5 minutes, a free header from a corner. The scorer took it well but Ramsbottom defended shockingly.
Ramsbottom recovered well and Matt Coward scored two goals before half time... and completed a hard working hat trick soon after the restart. Ramsbottom had a couple of chances to score a 4th but as the game wore on and their lack of subsitutes began to tell, Ambassadors had about half an hour of domination at the end of which the scored twice, both neat finishes from a player who had switched wings from the first half. Ashley Booth side footed the winner and could have had a couple more at the end.

After the very poor pre season it was a terrific fighting performance from Ramsbottom who will be stronger still with the return of four players soon.
Man of the match was Sarah Coward - she turns up to watch and her little brother grabs a hat trick. There's nothing quite like sibling rivallry to inspire a man is there?
