It will be one of Toft or Pennington. We (Hope Salford) got to the semis before going out to Pennington and Toft beat Platt. Didn't see the final as we had to leave but I'm sure one of them will post on here what happened.

Toft 2 won the final. I think the score ws 3-1, but not sure of the score as I was doing some clearing up at the time so didn't see it all !
By what I was told, Pennington played some great football to get to the final but when it came to the climax of the event they didn't play as well, got some injuries and conceded an unforunate penalty. Some good young players in the Pennington team - their youth policy I suppose.
So, a Toft team wins the event for the second year in a row.

Pennington cruised to the final conceding only 1 goal up to that point, a great performance in the semi final beating salford 7-0, it all looked good for the final.
In the final Pennington went one nil up, toft equalising and with the game in the balance, toft had a shot which hit the bar came down and bounced up over head height, a Pennington player assuming as the ball went over head height it was a free kick caught the ball to play the free kick and the ref gave toft a penalty for hand ball, very strange decision and wasn't any clearer after asking him after the game. Toft scored the penalty and from there was difficult for Pennington. Pennington only had 6 players and one of the youngsters who had been scoring for fun (8 in total in the tournament) was brought down by some clumsy toft defending and unfortunately couldn't continue. Toft scoring a third towards the end, i think from the extremely quick lad up front who caused pennington most of the problems.
3 of Penningtons players where 16 year olds from the Pennington Academy side:-), looking good for the future!

Incorrect, you beat no-one in the semi, as we didn't turn up!! Oh, and it was 6, I think, not 7, please don't rub it in!! Seriously though, you played very well, moved the ball up the pitch quickly and tucked a few away one touch. You deserved to get to the final on that evidence.

Wow, good that you've got a number of guys coming through to strenghten the team. From the evidence of Saturday and playing you near the end of last season, you could finish nearer the top next year!
